Questions
How do I test my website for accessibility?
Paste a page’s URL above for an automated check against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA. Automated checks cover 40 of the 55 criteria, fully or partly, so finish with a manual pass: use the page with only a keyboard, try a screen reader, and review the criteria a tool can’t judge, such as whether alt text describes the image.
Is a free accessibility checker the same as an accessibility audit?
Not quite. An automated check is the first part of an audit: it finds the issues code can detect, on every page you scan. A full audit adds the manual review above, done by a person.
Is ADAGuard’s accessibility scanner really free?
Yes. The free plan gives you unlimited single-page scans (no crawling) of one website, with no credit card required. You get the same 100+ accessibility rules as the paid plans, including fix guidance and WCAG criterion mapping — fix an issue and rescan the same page as many times as you want.
What does the free accessibility scanner check?
Missing alt text, low color contrast, unlabeled form fields, missing keyboard focus, poor heading hierarchy, invalid ARIA attributes, missing page language, empty link text, missing skip navigation, auto-playing media and more — all mapped to WCAG 2.2 criteria.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can scan any public URL straight away. Your score, issue counts and the top issues are shown right away. To save the full report, track progress over time and rescan that page, create a free account (no credit card required).
Can I scan password-protected pages for free?
Scanning pages behind a login is on the Professional plan ($129/mo) and above. The free plan scans public pages only.
