checked the way visitors see it.

A WCAG 2.2 and ADA scanner for WordPress. It tests your theme, plugins and page-builder output the way a visitor’s browser actually renders them.

What we usually find on WordPress.

  • Plugin-built components

Sliders, pop-ups and cookie banners from plugins that can’t be reached by keyboard or have no labels.

  • Heading levels skipped

Themes and page builders that jump from H1 to H4, or use headings just to make text big.

  • Images without alt text

Media-library uploads with no alt text, so a screen reader reads out the file name.

  • Menus that need a mouse

Dropdown navigation that only opens on hover and can’t be used with a keyboard.

  • Low contrast in themes

Page-builder color presets — light grey on white, white on pale brand colors.

  • Forms without labels

Form-builder fields that use a placeholder as the label, and errors that aren’t announced.

How the scan works.

  1. Paste your URL

Any public page of your WordPress site — the homepage, a product page, a landing page.

  2. We render it in a real browser

Chromium loads the page with your theme and plugins, then runs 100+ checks against WCAG 2.2 A and AA — usually in 10–30 seconds.

  3. Fix with the evidence in front of you

Each issue shows the element, where it is on the page and how to fix common cases.

Questions

How do I test a WordPress site for WCAG compliance?

Paste a page’s URL above. We load it in a real browser and check it against WCAG 2.2 A and AA. Automated checks cover 40 of the 55 criteria, so pair the scan with a short manual review of the rest.

Does my WordPress site need WCAG 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2?

WCAG 2.2 includes everything in 2.0 and 2.1, so testing against 2.2 AA covers all three.

Do I need a WCAG plugin for WordPress?

No. ADAGuard checks the published page from outside, so there is nothing to install or update on your site. A plugin that checks posts in the editor can still help authors; it just can’t see what the theme and other plugins add.

Why doesn’t an accessibility plugin find all my issues?

Most plugins check the content in the editor. Many problems come from the theme, other plugins and scripts that only exist once the page is rendered — which is what we test.

Can ADAGuard scan pages behind a WordPress login?

Yes, on Professional and above. You log in yourself in a secure remote browser and we never see your password.
